Wraparound Care - Cover Supervisor/s

Due to maternity leave, we have a vacancy for a cover supervisor for our Wraparound Care provision – Breakfast Club, which operates every school day. We would welcome interest from anyone who would like to offer occasional cover for the evening Late Club. If you are interested in supporting on a regular or occasional basis, please contact Sara Bowles on sara.bowles@gosfieldschool.org.uk for further details.

Breakfast Club is open to all pupils from Reception upwards and is based in the Dining Hall from 7.30 am – 8.25 am.

Late Club based in the Prep School is open to all pupils from 4.50 pm – 6.00 pm, Monday to Thursday and 3.50 pm – 6.00 pm on Fridays, for supervised play or homework with a light tea provided.

Payment is at an agreed rate for the sessions that run and flexibility will be required.

Part Time School Minibus Driver - 20 hours per week or job share

Gosfield School is an exceptional co-educational Independent School set in 110 acres of parkland, serving Colchester, Chelmsford, Sudbury and South Cambridge area. At the heart of our success is our commitment to a personal education tailored to your child.

Due to an increase in pupil numbers, we wish to appoint a Minibus Driver to safely transport children to and from School, collecting and dropping off at various points on a given route. You will need to be available on an ad hoc basis, to work anytime from Monday to Friday during the school term time to work for two hours in the morning and/or two hours in the afternoon. Flexibility to undertake additional, ad hoc driving work during the School day for fixtures, trips and other purposes is an advantage. Applicants must possess a D1(not 101) category licence and/or a CPC Licence.

Marketing and Communications Officer

JOB PURPOSE

This role has come about as a result of increased demand for places across the school and a desire to maximise the work of this department. The Marketing Officer supports the delivery of the School’s overall brand development and direction, student recruitment activity and marketing event planning. 

The Marketing Officer works to support the marketing of the school and communication with prospective and current stakeholders to ensure that the School is meeting admission targets and seeking additional ways to contribute revenue to support and further develop the facilities at the school. 

Line Management

The Marketing Officer will report to the Head of Marketing and Admissions.

Main duties and responsibilities

Duties will include, but may not be limited to:

  • The implementation of the School’s Marketing Strategy inclusive of social, website and outreach
  • Social media content production
  • Brand development
  • Brand awareness events e.g. Open Morning, Open Doors, etc
  • Recruitment campaigns, materials and events
  • Newsletters and other PR materials
  • Building first class relationships with local and national media organisations
  • Liaison with the School’s advertising agencies, designers and printers
  • Representing and promoting the School at exhibitions and presentations
  • Sourcing appropriate marketing and merchandising materials
  • Supporting admissions processes
  • Any other reasonable duties
  • Attendance at evening and some weekend events
  • Event organisation
  • Maintaining and updating the website

  • Have previous Marketing and Public Relations experience, ideally but not essentially within a school or charitable organisation

Head of Geography

Full time 
We are looking for a dynamic Head of Geography ready to make a real difference for all our students. Gosfield is a small family School where you are free to teach and innovate in a gorgeous green environment, where everyone is treated with warm respect and where everyone strives to reach and exceed their personal best.
We are seeking to appoint a passionate and highly motivated individual who will lead this subject area. The appointed person will play a significant role in contributing to the development of a curriculum, designed with the intention to challenge and enthuse students. They will also play a significant role in the future planning for the Department and expanding existing community links as well as forging new relationships both locally and nationally.
The School is seeking to appoint:
• An outstanding practitioner and leader who is ready for the next step to further develop their leadership skills.

Maintenance Assistant (Multi-skilled)

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a dedicated School Maintenance Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in caretaking or estate management and can work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. This is a full-time position, offering an exciting and challenging opportunity for the right individual to assist the Estates team to provide a safe, clean and secure environment in which children and staff can work effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Head of Operations in organising and supervising all matters related to the school’s premises, including maintenance, security, and service management.

  • Conduct handyperson duties and promptly fix/report any defects to the building’s fabric, undertaking repairs such as plumbing, light bulb replacement, and decorating.
  • Perform routine site tasks including cleaning, grounds maintenance, litter collection, snow clearing, graffiti removal, and setting up/clearing for events and examinations.
  • Collect deliveries and provide porterage services as required.
  • Operate heating, cooling, and lighting systems, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Provide emergency response to the school site and act as a key holder,  implementing security procedures for main buildings and sports facilities.
  • Record and monitor school lettings, liaising with staff and external parties hiring school facilities as necessary.
  • Conduct routine Health and Safety compliance checks and assist with grounds maintenance contractors working on site.
  • Assist in setting up communal areas for assemblies, meetings, exams, and functions.
  • Promote safe working practices and undergo relevant training as required.
    • Perform any other reasonable duties as directed by Head of operations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar caretaking or estates assistant role.
  • Previous trade experienced desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety.
  • Willingness to undergo enhanced DBS certification.
