Senior School

Welcome to our Senior School

I’m delighted to welcome you to our Senior School. We are a school that is focussed on pupils being the the very best they can be and achieving outcomes that are beyond expectation.

As a through school, with a strong family ethos that has been our heritage since 1929, our Senior School students have an extra responsibility as role models for our younger pupils. We expect our students to leave us at Year 13, not only with excellent outcomes from their studies, but as decent young citizens who are respectful, responsible and a credit to their families and their school.

Most of our leavers go on to their first choice university with some pursuing other pathways, but whatever they choose after their time with us, they will be set for a very bright future.

Our Senior School class sizes are deliberately small, enabling our teachers to really get to know their pupils. Our outcomes are consistently very strong and our value-added scores, the measure by which we can monitor progress beyond expectation, are excellent.

Extending more able students, assisting those that require additional support and ensuring that all students achieve to the very best of their ability is the primary focus of our excellent teaching staff.

We’re extremely proud of our facilities, From our Georgian manor house which is our main teaching and learning centre, to our full-size Sports hall, to our recently opened Performing Arts Centre, complete with dance studio, practice rooms, music room and theatre auditorium, to our 110 acres of parkland and sports pitches, our students learn in a fabulous environment.

We would love to have the opportunity to show you what makes Gosfield School such a special place. We look forward to meeting you, either at one of our Open Mornings or on a private visit.

Parents say…

“My daughter had a fantastic time at Gosfield School. She joined in Year 7 and stayed until the end of Year 11. She talks very positively about her experiences. She achieved great GCSE grades and socially, she has made friends for life. As parents we knew that she was getting great educational opportunities and also support from Teachers that knew her well and supported her to achieve her full potential. Thank you to all the Teachers for providing her with a great education and a fantastic foundation for A Level studies and beyond. We will miss you all!”

“My son joined in Year 9 as he was given the fantastic opportunity to join the Cricket Academy. As with all young people he was worried about making new friends, but thanks to the wonderful Gosfield School community, he has quickly settled and it seems as if he has always been there. He has never looked back.”

“With the global pandemic I was really worried for my Year 11 son and his GCSEs, but I was reassured by the quantity and quality of home learning that was provided by the staff at Gosfield School.  I could hear the lessons and the teacher interactions. I felt like I was in the classroom myself and I even learnt a few things! Well done.”
