At Gosfield School, we provide a stimulating learning environment across the whole curriculum which maximises individual potential and ensures that pupils of all ability levels are well-equipped to meet these challenges. We have high expectations for all pupils and believe that our pupils should have the highest aspirations for their future lives.
The work in lessons is differentiated for children to ensure that they are making progress from their own starting point. We monitor the progress of all our pupils, recording and reviewing to ensure early identification of additional needs.
Working in partnership with our parents, we promptly report any concerns in pupil progress. We seek to overcome barriers to learning by identifying these and discussing support during regular pupil progress meetings.
Pupils Learn in Different Ways
Individual pupils learn in different ways, but whatever their needs, gifts and talents our teachers support them in a wholly inclusive environment.
Along with Class Teachers and Learning Support Assistants, our Prep SENDCo provides individual support if it’s required.
The Prep SENDCo also provides staff INSET on pupils with specific learning difficulties. On occasions, pupils are observed in lessons by members of the learning support team to help contextualise. The feedback this provides enhances the teaching and learning.
Admissions
We request that any needs, concerns, or relevant information are shared during the admissions process to ensure that we are able to meet each child’s needs and/or put in place the relevant resources and provisions to minimise any barriers to learning.
