Wraparound Care - Cover Supervisor/s

Due to maternity leave, we have a vacancy for a cover supervisor for our Wraparound Care provision – Breakfast Club, which operates every school day. We would welcome interest from anyone who would like to offer occasional cover for the evening Late Club. If you are interested in supporting on a regular or occasional basis, please contact Sara Bowles on sara.bowles@gosfieldschool.org.uk for further details.

Breakfast Club is open to all pupils from Reception upwards and is based in the Dining Hall from 7.30 am – 8.25 am.

Late Club based in the Prep School is open to all pupils from 4.50 pm – 6.00 pm, Monday to Thursday and 3.50 pm – 6.00 pm on Fridays, for supervised play or homework with a light tea provided.

Payment is at an agreed rate for the sessions that run and flexibility will be required.

Part Time School Minibus Driver - 20 hours per week or job share

Gosfield School is an exceptional co-educational Independent School set in 110 acres of parkland, serving Colchester, Chelmsford, Sudbury and South Cambridge area. At the heart of our success is our commitment to a personal education tailored to your child.

Due to an increase in pupil numbers, we wish to appoint a Minibus Driver to safely transport children to and from School, collecting and dropping off at various points on a given route. You will need to be available on an ad hoc basis, to work anytime from Monday to Friday during the school term time to work for two hours in the morning and/or two hours in the afternoon. Flexibility to undertake additional, ad hoc driving work during the School day for fixtures, trips and other purposes is an advantage. Applicants must possess a D1(not 101) category licence and/or a CPC Licence.

Cleaner Required

15 hours per week (3 hours per day), Monday to Friday either 5am to 8am or 5pm to 8pm, term time plus occasional extra hours for events and holiday cleaning.

The caretakers and cleaning team as a whole are responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the school. We are looking for an additional cleaner who will take pride in meeting the frequency and cleanliness standards set out. Each cleaner is responsible for an area of the School, reporting to the Cleaning Supervisor but you may also be required to cover cleaning duties across other areas of the school, for cover purposes. Full training will be provided.

There will be the opportunity to assist with special functions at the school which may be outside of normal working hours.

Prep School Teacher (Maternity Cover)

Finance Assistant

Line Manager: Finance Manager

Remuneration: Highly competitive based on experience plus school fee remission

Hours of work:

30 hours per week over 5 days, (working 35 weeks term time + 9 weeks during the school holidays)

Duties:

Accounts Receivable 

  • Raising and issuing all school & nursery fees invoices, ensuring current fees and remissions are applied for each student for each term within the recommended timelines.
  • Liaising with Head of Admissions to ensure all current documents have been received for new students and all information is correct on Bromcom.
  • Issue all additional invoices as required, for bus charges, exam fees etc
  • All aspects of credit control – liaising with Finance Manager with regards to overdue fees, dealing with external debt collectors as required.

Purchasing 

  • Liaise with all staff with regards to raising purchase orders for all goods as required.
  • Checking that goods being purchased are value for and within department spending limits / budgets.
  • Liaise with Finance Manager on purchase of capital items or expensive items if not cover by budget.
  • Process all purchase orders, ensure timely delivery and receipt of goods.

Accounts Payable 

  • Oversee the matching of invoices to delivery notes and processing of supplier invoices.
  • Reconcile supplier statements.
  • Prepare weekly supplier payments, and issue for authorisation.

Cash & Bank 

  • Post all receipts and payments to ledgers for all bank accounts daily.
  • Reconcile all accounts weekly.
  • Liaise with relevant staff with regards to receipts and payments to/from Trips account, reconcile trip balances.
  • Arrange cash floats and receive all cash takings from school events, post to ledger and bank as required.

Other Duties

  • Produce and distribute monthly departmental expenditure against agreed budget.  Liaise with Finance Manager with regards to overspend.
  • Assist Finance Manager with the collating of monthly timesheets, expenses etc for payroll processing.
  • Work with the Finance Manager to develop and implement procedures for all finance related tasks.

 Safeguarding and School Policies

  • Always promote safeguarding and the welfare of the children in the school’s care, in accordance with the School’s safeguarding policies.
  • Be familiar with the School’s policies and promote safe working practices.
  • Ensure visitors and contractors are instructed in and follow safeguarding, child welfare and health and safety policies of the School.
  • Ensure that all team staff uphold the ethos and values of Gosfield School.

Finance Assistant Application Pack

Part Time Caretaker – Evenings & Weekends

Gosfield School is seeking to appoint a Part Time Caretaker – Evenings and weekends to join our committed Estates Team. This is an exciting and challenging role for someone with relevant experience.  You will help our Estates team to provide a warm, safe, clean and secure environment for our children, staff and visitors.

Your duties will include the maintenance, security and management of school buildings and grounds.  The ideal candidate would currently be working as caretaker or estates assistant, able to work independently or as part of a team and someone who takes pride in their work.

This post is 20 hours per week, Evenings and weekends (flexible), with opportunity for additional hours to support school events.
