Knowing every child, nurturing potential
Gosfield is a family school where every child can themselves, is encouraged to discover their passion and is inspired to achieve more than they believed possible.
J.W.Turner, our founding Headmaster, who established Gosfield School here at Cut Hedge Park in 1929, was a visionary educator and a leading proponent of a holistic approach to education. An approach that marries an excellent academic education with developing the intellectual, cultural, moral, sporting and creative lives of each child. Our entire school community works together to ensure that this vision remains a reality in the day to day experience at Gosfield for every child.
As a community – Parents, Staff, Pupils and Governors – we have developed a list of the values and characteristics that underpin a Gosfield education and that we believe a Gosfield education instils in each of our students:
- Kindness
- Respect
- Responsibility
- Community
- Independence
- Resilience
- Integrity
- Authenticity
These are the foundations which enable individuals to grow and develop in all aspects of their educational and pastoral lives. Gosfield is a small and caring setting where every individual’s contribution is counted and valued within a friendly and supportive ethos, where pupils and staff inspire one another, and in turn inspire others.
