Nursery Sessions & Fees

We offer a range of options with different activities and learning opportunities every day. To enable your child to feel settled and to develop important relationships with our Early Years Team we would recommend that all children have a minimum of two sessions per-week; these can be half days or full days. Your child may be eligible for Early Years entitlement funding of 15 hours per week and we do accept childcare vouchers.

A term time only nursery

Your Nursery place will be available during term time only. Fees are payable a term in advance.  All holidays will coincide with Gosfield School term dates.

Free early education entitlement

The Government Free Early Education Entitlement (FEEE) grant allows parents to claim for 15 hours per week of funding for all 3 year olds and 4 year olds, from the term after they turn 3 years of age. From September 2017, some parents may be eligible to claim the 15 hour a week funding.

How the funded hours can be accessed at Gosfield School Nursery:

  • 15 hours per week FEEE These places are available for a child 7.5 hours per day, up to a total of 15 hours per week. The funded hours are between 8.15am and 3.45pm, 32 weeks of the year during term time only.

The FEEE funding has no monetary value to parents. Parents will only be billed for additional hours not covered by the FEEE funding. Any changes to hours must be put in writing with one month’s notice given.

Eligibility for 15 hours fees

Parents qualify for 15 hours free childcare if they are:

  • in work – or getting parental leave, sick leave or annual leave
  • each earning at least the National Minimum Wage or Living Wage for 16 hours a week. This earnings limit does not apply if they are self-employed and started a business less than 12 months ago.

They are not eligible if:

  • the child lives elsewhere
  • the child is a foster child
  • either partner has a taxable income over £100,000.
Applying for 15 hours fees

Applications are made online at; Parents will need their National Insurance number and the application process takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. They must apply on a termly basis before the following dates:

  • For the autumn term - Apply before 31 August
  • For the spring term - Apply before 31 December

The Finance department will inform them of their decision. If they are successful in being awarded a 15 hours place, the Finance department will inform the Nursery Manager so she is aware.

Essex County Council are responsible for notifying the Nursery where a parent has fallen out of eligibility, informing them of the grace period end date. The child’s place will be terminated at the end of the grace period unless the parent pays in full, all fees due.

Childcare vouchers

We accept Childcare Vouchers as payment for Nursery fees. Childcare Vouchers are non-taxable and are exempt from National Insurance Contributions (N.I.C.) for employees.

All working parents, with children aged under 15, or 16 if disabled, are eligible to receive Childcare Vouchers.

Childcare Vouchers benefit both basic and higher rate tax payers.
