U11 Tag Rugby Tournament

Wednesday 28th September

Gosfield hosted both Cambridge International School and Stoke College in a well contested tournament. Gosfield fielded two evenly matched teams who actually drew with each other and both had a win and a narrow loss in the other matches. The tournament was not however about winning but about learning the skills of rugby and working towards playing contact in the future.

Wednesday 28th September

Gosfield 1 - Cambridge International 0
Gosfield 1 - Stoke College 5

U11 Hockey Girls Success
Congratulations to the U11 girls hockey team who played in a triangular fixture against Stoke College and Cambridge International on Wednesday. They won their first game against Cambridge 1-0 thanks to a powerful strike by Suki. Their second game was against a strong Stoke College side and resulted in a 5-1 loss. However we did have a lot of possession and Olivia scored a great goal flicking the ball to the side of the keeper. Hattie made some incredible saves in goal too!

The girls should be proud of their achievements; they fought hard in every game and all played with real effort and determination. Player of the match goes to Olivia for her fantastic goal and her excellent work rate.

U15 Rugby Gosfield 66 - CIS 31

Tuesday 27th September

This was a really enjoyable match fought out by two teams with a lot of newcomers to rugby. One of the more experienced Gosfield players was Michael Freeman who showed his ability by scoring four of Gosfield's ten tries. James Dunne playing in only his second match played very strongly and was rewarded with a try. Henry Thorne and Alex Allen both scored a brace with Aston Beagrie rounding off the try scorers. Kyron Moon added 6 conversions with Ben Wyss and George Redfern also bagging one each.

The sides were very even with play predominantly moving around the centre of the pitch. Both teams had limited shots on goal. The game ended 0-0. Player of the match was awarded to Bella for super play throughout demonstrating some excellent hockey skills and a special mention has to go to Joely who also worked incredibly hard on pitch never giving up.
