Year 9&10 Netball - Gosfield 6 Cambridge International 8

Tuesday, 17th January

Well done to all year 9 and 10 girls who played their first netball match of the season against Cambridge International on Tuesday 17th January. The game was incredibly close for the duration of the match with both teams working incredible hard. Gosfield showed great enthusiasm, determination and team work throughout. Player of the match goes to Evie Spenceley for superb defending and making so many interceptions. The final score was 6-8 to Cambridge. We are all looking forward to the return game after the February half term break. Well done girls!!!

U11 A&B Football - Gosfield v St Johns

Friday 2nd December

Gosfield played two football matches against St Johns, an A and B team allowing every boy a match. Despite being out of season the football matches against St Johns have always been useful in kick starting the next term. Gosfield as expected were slow out of the blocks, perhaps slower than hoped with both A and B teams struggling to find rhythm. As one would expect the teamwork was lacking in the first half but gradually came together in the second although by this time St Johns had comfortable leads in both games. With a lot to build on next term, the teams look forward to some competitive fixtures.

U16 Football - Gosfield 6 St Johns 4

Friday 2nd December

Gosfield scored a thoroughly deserved win over rivals St Johns, with Joe Skillicorn taking the honours with a well struck hat trick. Kurt Beagrie was sublime at times, scoring two goals, one of which any professional would be proud. Antonio Tibaldi had an excellent game whilst youngsters Ben Wyss, Kyron Moon and Ben McQuillan made a huge contribution to the victory. Once some defensive lapses are ironed out the team should go from strength to strength.

U14 VII Football - St Johns 2 Gosfield 3

Tuesday 29th November

This certainly was a game of two halves. The first half saw Gosfield squander several scoring opportunities - the team lacked any real fluency and simple chances went begging. St Johns on the other hand had two goal scoring chances and took them both to take a 2-0 lead into half time. The second half saw Gosfield begin to dominate every area on the pitch, but with 15 minutes left still had no reward. Suddenly a fantastic strike from Ben Wyss seemed to lift the side and a second goal followed quickly as Freddie Bowers guided a brilliant cross from Tom Dickson into the net. The last few minutes saw keeper Ben McQuillan make some match defining saves. Michael Freeman sent a great ball forward and once again Ben calmly struck the winner – Gosfield deserved winners 3-2!
