As pupils join the Senior School, we recognise our responsibility to help prepare them not only for the academic challenges they face but also for the world beyond school. They are encouraged to become independent learners, to explore and expand their talents and to contribute fully to the school community.
The curriculum is designed to engage and challenge all learners, and pupils thrive in small classes with specialist teachers. Those who need extra support or further extension find their needs catered for carefully. Tutors guide pupils in their academic work and their social interactions, communicating fully with parents to help pupils make sensible choices and develop generosity of spirit and mutual respect.
Advice on careers and further education provides practical assistance as pupils begin to consider seriously what their future may hold. They are given leadership opportunities and roles of responsibility within Houses and throughout the school.
Senior pupils benefit from full use of our extensive facilities, including modern IT suites, the well-stocked library and our superb sports hall. Outdoors, they have large playing fields and lovely parkland to enjoy. Some of our Senior pupils choose to board, finding the routine supportive and the camaraderie most enjoyable.
The Sixth Form at Gosfield is excellent preparation for university, introducing pupils to advanced study and developing their research skills. The modern, well-equipped Sixth Form Centre is an appropriate and much appreciated facility where pupils can work and relax together in a collegial atmosphere.
We hope that, when our pupils eventually leave the Senior School, they will have grown into fine young adults whose love of learning, integrity and positive attitude will stand them in good stead for the future.
